These terms govern your use of madridtourism.org. Reading the site means accepting them. They are written to be understood rather than to be impressive; if something here is unclear, ask through the contact page.
1. What this site is
Madrid Tourism Guide publishes free reference guides about visiting Madrid. It is a publication, not a travel agency, tour operator, booking platform or ticket seller. It has no contractual relationship with any museum, hotel, restaurant, transport operator or tour company mentioned on it, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Ayuntamiento de Madrid, the Comunidad de Madrid, esmadrid.com or Turespaña.
2. Accuracy, and the limits of it
The guides here are researched from primary sources and re-checked, but Madrid does not hold still. Admission prices change. Museums revise their free-entry evenings. Metro and Cercanías fares are reset. Restaurants close between one visit and the next. Festivals move. Building work shuts a wing of the Prado for a season.
Verify anything your trip depends on with the venue or operator before you rely on it. That means opening hours on the day you plan to go, current ticket prices, whether a timed-entry slot is needed, and whether a train or bus is running. Every guide links to the official source so this takes a minute rather than an afternoon. Prices are given as a guide, in euros, and are dated; treat a figure as an indication of what something costs, not a quotation.
Nothing here is professional advice. It is not legal, immigration, medical, insurance or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for your own government’s travel guidance, which is the only authority on whether you can enter Spain and under what conditions.
3. Safety and personal responsibility
Some guides discuss the practical realities of a large city — where pickpocketing is common, which areas of a park to avoid after dark, how to get home safely at four in the morning. That material is descriptive and offered in good faith. It cannot anticipate your circumstances, and following it does not guarantee anything. Decisions about where you go and what you do in Madrid are yours. In an emergency in Spain, call 112.
4. Content and copyright
The written guides on this site, and the way they are researched, structured and organised, are the original work of Madrid Tourism Guide and are protected by copyright.
You may read, print and share links to anything here freely, and quote a short passage with clear attribution and a link back to the page it came from. You may not republish a guide in whole or in substantial part, on a website or anywhere else, and you may not use this site’s content to train machine learning models or feed automated republishing systems, without written permission.
Photographs are a separate matter. They are licensed from Pexels and Wikimedia Commons under the terms those platforms and their photographers set, and are credited where the licence requires it. The licence on any given photograph belongs to its photographer, not to this site, so permission to reuse an image has to come from its source rather than from here. If you are a photographer and believe an image of yours is used or credited wrongly, say so on the contact page and it will be corrected or taken down promptly.
Names, logos and trade marks of the museums, transport operators and businesses mentioned here belong to their owners and are used to identify them, which is what trade marks are for.
5. Links to other sites
Guides link out to primary sources so that you can check them. Those sites are not under this site’s control. Their content, availability, privacy practices and terms are their own responsibility, and a link is not an endorsement of anything beyond the fact it was the best source available when the guide was written. Follow an outbound link and you leave this site’s terms behind.
6. Advertising
This site is funded by advertising. Advertisements are supplied by third-party networks and are not selected, written or reviewed by this site; an advertisement appearing next to a guide implies no endorsement of the advertiser, and no dealing you have with an advertiser is a matter this site is party to. Advertising has no bearing on editorial content — see the about page. See the privacy policy for how advertising cookies are handled.
7. Availability
This site is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be available without interruption or free of error. Pages are taken down, rewritten or merged as guides are revised; a URL that worked last year may redirect somewhere better this year.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Madrid Tourism Guide is not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of this site or your reliance on anything published here — including a missed opening time, a price that had changed, a closed restaurant, a cancelled event, or a decision made on the basis of a guide.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in them affects rights you hold under mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence, which apply regardless of what this page says.
9. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to this site or its host, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other readers, or use it to distribute malware or unlawful material. Automated bulk copying of the guides is not permitted.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms are revised from time to time. The current version is always the one on this page and the date at the top says when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a revision means accepting the revised terms.
